Flathead Monster Directions

Monster Directions

These directions are from the Kalispell Airport to Ranchetts Road. The launch is at the very end of Ranchettes Road. From Hwy 35 take Riverside Drive either from Creston or further south towards Hwy 82. From Riverside Drive, turn onto Ranchettes Drive. At the end of the street turn right on Ranchettes Road. Unload at the end of the road and then find parking.

The race will start at 10am so get here early. Please allow at least one hour to register and park your car. Parking is tight at the site, so it's advisable to unload your gear and then park further down the road. Please be mindful of private property and residences.

Flathead Monster 2006

The Flathead Monster Canoe and Kayak Challenge...
...is a go for this year!

Saturday August 19th
Race start will be at: 10am
Races fees will be: $20

We are still scouting a good spot
- So keep checking back for directions to the launch site.

We plan on having a short course 5-7 miles,
and a long course 12-15 miles.

Race t-shirts will be available by order only.
We regret that we will not have them pre-made.
Add $12 to the race fees for an original Flathead Monster race shirt.

The Flathead Monster (Updated)

Big News: It's official. The 2005 Flathead Monster will be held in conjunction with the Wooden Boat Show at Harbor Village! Be sure to let everyone know as this will be a really fun event with great prizes, food, and entertainment!

The Flathead Monster is 15-20 mile open paddling event held by the Bigfork Outrigger Canoe Club. All "man-powered" craft are invited to enter. Entry fee (to be announced) will include a collectible race T-Shirt and a raffle entry. Mark this race on your calendar now as it'll be one not to miss!
